Malaysia Global Competitiveness Improves as Ranking Reaches 15th

Malaysia has climbed to 15th place in the IMD World Competitiveness Ranking 2026, marking an eight-place improvement from the previous year.

Sin Chew Daily reported that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim welcomed the result, saying it reflects the government focus on efficiency and implementation.

Anwar said the country economic reforms, stable politics and stronger investor confidence are moving in the right direction.

The result is expected to support Malaysia appeal as an investment destination, but observers will be watching whether the gains translate into jobs, productivity and stronger growth.
